Stuart Torkington
Professional
Stuart attended Salford University from 2000-2005 where-by he achieved a BSc (Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying alongside working in private practise.
During his time in private practise, Stuart predominantly worked for various commercial and retail clients in the role of Quantity Surveyor and Employer’s Agent.
In 2010 Stuart made the move to the Contracting side of the industry, again working with commercial and retail clients but now managing the commercial side of each project ‘up-stream’ with the client’s team and ‘down-stream’ with various supply chain members.
In 2014 Stuart joined Wilkinson Cowan in the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor bringing nearly 15 years of consulting and contracting experience.
Since joining Wilkinson Cowan Stuart has been involved in a number of projects with our Housing Association clients – these have included housing projects with a varied mix of tenures and also ‘extra-care’ schemes with specific end user requirements.
Stuart now benefits from the experience of working on commercial, retail and residential schemes from both private and contracting perspectives and aims to use his interpersonal skills to provide a good reliable service to all clients.
Personal
Outside of work Stuart’s time is predominantly split between his two biggest loves – his family and football!
Stuart has a young family which keeps him on his toes and increases the rate of hair loss – but he wouldn’t change it for the world!
Stuart has played open age football for the best part of 20 years and still enjoys playing each weekend, albeit the feeling of players half his age flying past him each week is starting to take the shine off things – veteran football is calling!
