Principal Designer

Health and Safety stands as a critical priority for our clients. Within our organisation, our Health and Safety Team has expanded significantly in recent years and has a wealth of expertise in health and safety practices, specifically tailored to the demand of the modern construction industry, with extensive knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015).

Our Health and Safety Team are incorporated members of the APS and hold NEBOSH qualifications and are supported by a team of qualified Health & Safety consultants. WCP has corporate membership of the APS as well as CHAS accreditation, demonstrating our competence and commitment to excellence.

We use our knowledge and practical experience to offer strategic advice on health and safety matters during the pre and post-contract phases, ensuring clients understand and comply with the relevant legislation.

Recognised as adept CDM professionals by our clients, our team can provide CDM awareness and principal designer training, catering to both clients and designers alike.

CDM + Health & Safety

In the ever-changing workplace health and safety is paramount and with this, our health and safety department has grown.

We have a dedicated team of health and safety consultants operating from each of our two offices with a wealth of health and safety knowledge and experience relating to all construction activities and, in particular the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) .

Both our Health & Safety Director and our Health & Safety Consultants have dual professional memberships of chartered construction and health and safety institutions including CIOB and MIOSH as well as NEBOSH, NVQ, and City & Guilds qualifications.

Our senior consultants and professionally qualified principal designers use their vast knowledge and experience to advise on strategic health and safety issues in addition to all aspects of health and safety in construction during the pre-construction phase and acting as principal designers under the 2015 CDM Regulations.

Project Monitoring

Wilkinson Cowan Partnership has a team of experienced project monitoring surveyors and expert witnesses which is commonly appointed by banks or other funding institutions to advise on the risks of acquiring an interest in a development.

The Project Monitoring surveyors here at Wilkinson Cowan Partnership have many years’ experience in this particular construction service for some of the leading investment banks on private residential schemes, and the expansion and future-proofing of a privately- owned end-of-life care home for sick children.

Expert Witness

Our in-house Expert Witness surveyors are experienced, highly skilled and qualified in Building Surveying.

At WCP our Experts have the experience to provide ‘weight’ to our facts, assumptions and opinions in our Part 35 Compliant Expert Witness reports (also known as CPR 35 Compliant) for use by the court in making decisions around an area outside of its own expertise.

The principal duty of our Experts is to the court. Our building pathology knowledge underpins independent thinking which is not influenced by those who are instructing and ensures Expert evidence is objective and unbiased.
