The London Marathon – Laura Astwood

There’s only one week to go before our very own Associate Director, Laura Astwood participates in the London Marathon raising money for The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. The marathon will form the second part of her triple challenge to complete The London Classics from London Marathon Events.
For those who don’t know The London Classics brings together 3 of the best sporting challenges in the UK.

The unique challenge requires participants to run the Virgin Money London Marathon, cycle 100 miles in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 and swim two miles at Swim Serpentine, the open water swimming festival.

Everyone who completes this iconic trio of events receives a specially-designed London Classics medal engraved with the words: Et ego Londinium vici (“I too have conquered London”) and will be listed in the London Classics Hall of Fame.

No mean feat for any man!

The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is a fantastic charity who work tirelessly to fund important research projects, raise awareness and dispel the stigma attached to Lung Cancer. Lung cancer can affect anyone. Young or old, male or female, smokers and non smokers.

I’m sure you will join us in wishing Laura the best of luck for the marathon and should you wish to donate, Laura would certainly be grateful for the support. Details of Laura’s just giving page is detailed below. – thank you!
